A drop in estradiol, a form of the estrogen hormone. No, this isn’t a look at women going through a major life change, it’s actually characteristic of a male response to a partner’s pregnancy. It turns out that women aren’t the only ones who are going through ups and downs in their hormones during pregnancy. Men may experience hormonal shifts too. These fluctuations in hormone levels during a partner’s pregnancy may help prepare men for becoming fathers for the first time. These increases and decreases in hormone levels are both similar and different to those experienced by expectant mothers, but most likely, the reason is the same for both: preparing the expectant couple for parenthood.
