Get Fit as a Family

Family play time also means family fitness. For kids, playing with parents can be nearly magical. Parents finally seem to loosen up and get a little silly. By making the games active, like playing tag or rolling on the floor or engaging in a game of make-believe animals, you can also help your kids to be less sedentary and make them feel closer to mom and dad. Spending time together as a family is a key part of helping your children to feel secure, and teaching them about physical activity is a lesson they can take throughout life. It’s also a chance to teach and learn new skills from your kids. Rather than turn a game of catch into a competition, use it to foster throwing and catching skills.
