We love the sunshine and warm weather of summer―but why does it feel as though our lives speed up to double time in the summer? Our calendars fill up more quickly with everything from backyard barbecues to pool parties. The garden needs tending. The yard needs mowing. There’s more washing to do. It’s endless! And if you’re working, finding time for workouts can be a challenge. But what happens to you if you slack off on exercise? The thing is, your brain, as well as your body, will suffer. If you quit exercising for only a few days, less blood will flow to your brain’s hippocampus, where you store memories. You’ll become more prone to depression.
