Depression is an all-too-common disorder and a very real issue for millions of Americans, and unfortunately, there’s no easy solution to treating it. Many people try counseling and psychotherapy. Many more take antidepressant medications as a means to help them cope and recover. However, depression is a diverse and complicated disorder, and many factors can contribute both to its development and to its treatment. There is no one-size-fits-all answer, as evidenced by the many people who have been diagnosed with depression who don’t find relief with traditional antidepressant medications. Many people go down the list of different antidepressants, hoping that the next one will be the one that will finally work, only to be disappointed once again. Many of these people end up experiencing a range of unpleasant side effects in their quest.
